I created this illustration when asked to show at an art show at MOTR Pub in Cincinnati, Ohio. My husband had a screen printing shop — Libre Okay — and at the time they were running production out of our basement.

The obvious choice was to create something made for that medium. Four colors, heavily inspired by my idol Tove Jansson. The image splits into two halves to create a shoreline that could be built upon over time.

Libre has since moved on and changed its name. One day I hope to revisit this and keep building the world.
